My family has been here for 3 summers now, it was a great introduction to lake life, but my parents are now getting a permanent cabin of their own in another location. The management is one complaint we have had. My parents have sent several emails about simple issues such as replacing a shed and the like, and it was pulling teeth to get them to even respond. I agree with the fact that Jodi is only appealing when she's selling, she should just sell and have someone else manage. Otherwise, it's a great place if you want to go out and meet new people. They always have fun stuff going on during the big summer holidays, including dances in the pavilion with a profession DJ!
Totally unprofessional guest services, and management. I called to complain about the gate guard getting very aggressive with me in front of my niece. We had ice cream that was melting and he was BSing with the person in front of us blocking the entrance, I waited patiently for a moment and they didn't acknowledge anyone was waiting so I honked my horn. The car finally moved so I could get in, the gate person told me I need to wait my turn, I simply told him "I'm not trying to be rude but I have cold stuff melting" he says "wait your turn, if you don't like it leave" I said "you were talking" and he starts yelling at me to leave and threatening to chase me down. I called management (Jodi) and they just tell me I was dropping f bombs or something not wanting to hear my side of the story. My 9 year old niece was with me in the car, there is no way I'd use that language in front of her. I'm appalled at the way Jodi handled my complaint, basically I've been doing this for 23 years, and that the staff didn't do anything wrong. I don't know I feel like this is a very good example of how not to be when you work with the public. If you want a "my way or the highway" literally attitude come to this mediocre place where a lady that should hire someone to deal with people attempts to do it herself and fails. Very disappointing i would never pay to come here. Go spend your money where people at least attempt to hear you out, and not make outlandish accusations.
We have been at the resort for nearly two years now. The management does a great job of managing some of the very demanding personalities that the resort hosts. That being said, we have incredible neighbors and do not have any complaints. We use the resort year round. This is not a resort for you if you want to sit inside by yourself. However, if you want to visit and get to know people, this will quickly become your home away from home. We have established life long friends there, and there is an incredible amount activities to do. Do not let any negative reviews stop you from coming and seeing this for yourself.
This place is awesome. I've been coming for 12 years now and this is my "happy place." While some people have trouble with management, we never have. They have rules for a reason, which aren't unreasonable. Those that have problems seems to want to make their own rules. Although the fishing isn't what I'd like it to be, we roll with it. Getting on the lake on the pontoon is awesome. We have amazing neighbors and have made some great friends. I never seem to get enough if it there. I love my "happy place".
